It is within this rising freedom fighting group that a hero is unwilling born. Young mercenary Cloud Strife, formally of the elite SOLDIER army, sells his sword hand to the AVALANCHE while stubbornly maintaining his ground is solely neutral. However, when their plans go array and they are forced to retreat, Cloud discovers that things are far more complicated than any of them every dreamed. After rescuring a beautiful flower girl named Aerith, Cloud finds himself facing not only the whole of ShinRa, but also a darker, more frightening that had been secretly shifting the tides, bidding it's time until the precise moment to strike came. A face from the past, a once schooling mentor; the powerful sworsman known only as Sephiroth tries not only to wrest away the reigns of controll, but to overthrow them entirely, spiraling the world into a blanket of chaos.
Banding together, the unlikely troupe of warriors, set off on their journey to face Sephiroth, armed with only their faith and friendship in one another to see them through. Willful and independant Tifa Lockhart; Rough 'n rowdy Barret Wallace; Gentle and compassionate Aerith Ghast; Silent and wise Nanaki; Street-smart and cocky Cid Highwind; Skil;ful and cunning Yuffie Kisaragi; Wistful and dashing Vincent Valentine; Cuddly and playful Cait Sith; And, of course, their leader, the brooding yet determined Cloud.
