Slasher - Slasher is a certain subgenre in horror films. These films often contain a masked killer of some sort, who usually wants to exact revenge on a town/school/former classmate. Although there is some variation on these themes, most slashers were made in the 80's, and most were very similar. The slasher also made a comeback in the mid to late 90's with Wes Craven's Scream. On a simpler level, I have heard slashers referred to as "dramas with body counts
