Rodington Wharf

This is a great shot of Rodington Canal. Five historic sites have been caught with the camera: the Wharf, the Canal, the Aqueduct, and the Old Hall Chimney Stack and the Old Hall Barn.

I can imagine Robert Madeley as boy helping his father Joshua unload bricks and stone from a barge for their building business, loading them up on to their cart. They may be picking up some coal while they are there.

Below is a picture that shows the area today. An avenue of trees line the canal and the site of the aqueduct keeping it from public view. The Wharf itself is now an expansive green beside a refurbished Wharf Cottage.
