Rodington

After lunch under the shade of the trees at High Ercall Church we set off for Rodington.

My great grand parents Joshua and Elizabeth Madeley were buried at Rodington in 1911.

The church there is set on a small hillock by the roadside and surrounded by dwellings.

There is a small area by the gate to park. The church looks old and has many old tombstones on its small plot with their writings worn away.

Rodington was where my great-grandparents, Joshua and Elizabeth Madeley were buried in 1911.

It was a very quiet place for them to rest, under the shade of the old trees.

Although the church is surrounded by modern dwellings, the grounds seemed to retain some form of independence from it all.

I did not manage to get all the bell cage tower in here.

It is made of wood and rather weather-beaten, yet still in tact, considering it is made of wood. Huge burial constructions for such a small church, can be seen in the foreground.

Around the back in a very small plot are more of the same, only older. Some very important local people were been buried here.

My ancestors lineage was getting closer with every stop.

It was now time to visit Shrewsbury where I went to school, but first a visit to Whitehall on the way.
