that Joshua Madeley and his family lived in. Joshua was a bricklayer and building contactor.
Later, when Robert's sister Sarah Ann married Thomas Harry Wilson the business changed to farming. Eventually the title Madeley House was changed to Grove Farm. The farmstead Grove Farm was identified and classified by the Historic Farmsteads Characterisation Project, 2008 - 2010, and so is now mentioned on modern maps. However, Madeley House, now Grove Farm, does not have listed protection. |
