Cruckmeole Watermill

Cruckmeole Watermill was a corn mill.

Today it is not a working mill and is called Mill House Farm.

It was recently sold for £695,000 and is protected by Grade II listing.

It now offers B&B service for visitors to the area.

The old map below shows just how handy a B&B might be for visitors.

1887 Map of Cruckmeole

This old map shows how the mill obtained its power from Rea Brook (also known as Meole Brook).

The Mill Race drove the water into the water mill giving the mill its great power.

On the map lies the Shrewsbury and Welshpool Branch railway cutting through the countryside.

Cruckmeole Shorthill Colliery is also shown.

North of the railway line lies Cruckmeole hamlet.
