By 1911 Robert Madeley and his wife
Ida had six children. Their home at the Butchers of 41 High Street
Shrewsbury was bigger than it seemed, but soon the family would move to
larger premises in Cruckmeole.
Jeffrey Madeley was just 4 months
old at the Census, but his mother Ida was in Inkberrow with her daughter
Olive who was 3. Ida and Olive were staying with Ida's mother Mary Ann
Key, who was 75 at the time of the 1911 census.
So Robert had employed a nurse and
ladies helper to take care of all the children and the house while he ran
the shop. Elizabeth Cartright and Rosabella Evans helped out until the
family moved to Cruckmeole.
