Proteins are found in dariy products, meat, polutry products and soy products.  Proteins help build  muscle mass and helps formulate tissues.

Some babies are born the defeiciences that enable them to metabolism protein.  As a result, they usually die some time after birth.

Proteins are polymers (collections) of amino acids.  The shape of a protein, dependant on what amino acids it has, influences its biological activity.
Proteins are responsible for muscle contraction.  The digestive enzymes are proteins, as are insulin and most other hormones.  Other proteins are:
-antibodies for the immune system
-hemoglobin (carrying vital substances throughout the body
