BIOGRAPHY
I have always been interested in the art and
photography field. My Mother was
a fine artist and my Father a fine woodworker building clocks and shelves. I
started out working as a fashion illustrator drawing ladies fashions for the
newspaper. After I moved to Florida I began training and working as a
Photographic artist eventually specializing in airbrushing and restoring
photographs. I also started printing my own B&W infrared photos and
hand
colouring my photographs. I have now ventured off into the world of the
computer and love creating images from my photographs on it.
I am originally from Peoria, Illinois. I moved to Sarasota Florida in 1977
with my husband Ron and two children Robin & Bobby. I now have five
delightful Grandsons who live in Idaho.
As to my equipment, I am a Mac user with a Polaroid Sprint Scanner for slides
and negatives, a Umax flat bed scanner and an Epson 800 for printing. I use a
Nikon 8008 camera, favorite lens is a 200mm Macro lens. I also like to
experiment with the Polaroid SX 70 and Polaroid transfers, (although it is a
lot easier and more controllable to make a transfer on the computer and print
it on watercolor paper). I use many different films for different purposes,
Kodak B&W Infrared, Fuji Velvia for intense colors, Fuji Astia for flatter
middle of the day shots, Fuji Provia for all around pictures and I like the
new Kodak Ektachrome films for more sharpness and color saturation. I used them
for fall leaves and scenes and they are the best I've ever taken.
