Third inline in the Scarren heirachy, Ahkna is the highest ranking female Scarren, and one with political ambition beyond that of any of her own species. She holds a similar position to that of Peacekeeper Commandant Grayza, and aims to create an alliance with the woman to bring the two species together. However, as Scorpius rightly knows, this is just a Scarren ploy to open up the Peacekeepers to an attack. Ahkna hopes this will aid her ascension, allowing her to become leader of a massive area of space.

During the final episodes of Season 4 Ahkna believes that Staleek, the Scarren Emperor, is weakening. In her eyes, his fight with John Crichton leaves him exposed to Peacekeeper attack, and that really they should be concentrating on Scorpius. The bomb that Crichton manages to bring to Katratzi in Hot To Katratzi only strengthens her belief that she could soon be the Empress of the Scarren world. Were it not for the damage done by Crichton's bomb and the resulting chaos, Ahkna would have used Crichton's escape to disgrace Staleek, and take over as leader. For now though, the Scarrens are badly weakened, and Ahkna seems partially to blame, meaning that at least for now, she won't have the chance to make any false deals with the Peacekeepers.
