The NLTA site provides information on recent events within the Newfoundland section along with links to all other teacher associations across Canada. They provide contact links for any questions you may have and job opportunity postings for teaching positions across Canada.

Schoolnet.ca is one of the strategies the Canadian Government has is place to help link all citizens to the internet. There are many great resources for new teachers and one of the most impressive is the Schoolnet Grassroots Program where there are 64 Newfoundland schools already connected. Take a look and see what some of these sites have to offer you as a new teacher.

The National EdGEO Program was initiated in the early 70's to provide local workshops on the earthscience curriculum for Canadian teachers. In order to enhance teacher's knowledge and classroom resources, grants are provided for workshops up to $3000.00 from EdGEO. Thus maybe attending one of these workshops could greatly enhance the learning within your classroom.

The Educators Network Site was created to provide teachers with some additional online tools and resources to make their lives easier. They have a site that creates webpages for teachers at a low cost. So for only 10 bucks you can make life a little easier for yourself and enhance the learning within your classroom with online activities.

The Canadian Teacher.Com WebSite exists to offer Canadian Teachers with free resources to ease the financial burdens within today's school system. These resources are provided by the private sector and the government to help schools develop and use technology in their day to day activities.

The Class Mate Grading Site offers a program for Windows that would aid teachers in calculating and reporting grades for students. This program is recommended for all grade levels and it can help make evaluation much easier. The Site offers a free demo and upgrading. You can also order this complete package online. It can be useful with attendance, evaluation and statistical analysis.

The Adprima site was developed specifically to give new teachers and education students a head start. They cover information on creating lesson plans, classroom management and information on the different types of instructional method. This site has a lot of information that could help you to become a more effective teacher.

The biodisc Site is an advertising Site for ordering educational biology CD-ROMs. In an area where resources are scarce, you may find some of these resources necessary for student learning. General biology, cell biology, genetics, anatomy, ecology and biochemistry are areas you can receive information on. Thus, in order to provoke student interest, maybe you can get funding for these valuable resources.
