Journal Page Spring 2007

March 5, 2007 - Finally, warm weather looks to be here to stay!  I didn't get much done over the winter other than some work to my custom valve cover and some test fitting of new Ford "Bullitt" pedal covers to the factory Mustang II pedal arms.  The "Turbo EFI" aluminum valve cover that I bought from eBay is getting the "Turbo" script changed to "2.3".  So far I have ground the old letters off and smoothed the surface.  A friend is going to weld the new letters on from inside the cover.  They are cut from 1/8" aluminum plate and shaped to match the "5.0" Ford letters.  The "Bullitt" gas pedal fits the factory accelerator arm pretty well, just needing some plastic removed to pivot properly.  Given the 25+ year difference in manufacture, that's pretty amazing!  The "Bullitt" brake and clutch pedal covers should pop right on after some trimming of the mounting plates on the factory pedal shafts.

May 5, 2007 - The warm weather was here, then shortly after the last post left again.  A late frost killed the new leaves on most plants in my neighborhood.  It's back warm again, and I'm back under the Ghia again scraping the undercoating off.  Removing the undercoating has taken 3 years so far, so apparently I wasn't in that big of a hurry!  Actually, in that same time I have taken nearly every part out from under the car other than the front suspension and have stripped and painted them.  So once the reassembly starts, it should go quickly.  I still have a couple of days worth of scraping to do, then a couple more of prep and painting the bottom of the car before I can start reassembly.  Maybe by June...

June 2007 - Nope, nope, nope.  No progress.  Very frustrated.
