To whom it may concern:
Lyle XXXXXXX worked for us for nearly 15 years. We hired Lyle in April of 1985
as a part-time clerk and because of his desire to excel and his natural leadership
abilities within 2 weeks he was promoted to store manager. He remained with
us and managed the store along with assuming other responsibilities until we
discontinued the business in January of 2000.
During this time Lyle conducted all of the daily business operations and did so in
a very positive and professional manner. He was responsible for all management
& merchandising decisions, including purchasing and inventory control, employee
hiring and scheduling. He took care of daily bookkeeping, reporting and banking
duties, and was very adept at public relations, advertising, and handling any legal
matters. Lyle demonstrated a keen eye for detail in display and store design. He
was competitive with other related businesses and always very aware of local and
nationwide business trends. He maintained friendly professional relationships with
neighboring businesses and was active in local BlockWatch activities & meetings.
In addition, Lyle served as our regional manager and we depended upon him to
regularly visit our other stores to critique their business operations and to think up
new, better, and more efficient ways of conducting their businesses.
We found Lyle to be loyal and dedicated almost to a fault. We often suggested
that he "get away and take some time off", but his responsibilities and smooth
operation of the stores always had top priority over his own personal life. The fact
is, we totally relied on him to handle any & all problems and situations that might
arise at anytime of the day or night and in his good conscience, he just had to
always be there.
We knew early on that Lyle had so much more to offer than was available to him
within our business operation. He had advanced as far as he could within our
company, but due to his dedication he stayed with us to the end. The success
we enjoyed over the years that Lyle was with us is much to his own credit. We
know Lyle will be successful in whatever he aspires to do.
We wish Lyle well and know that in whatever field he chooses to use his talents
and skills, he will excel and prove to be the same dedicated and valuable asset
that we have known and depended on for the past 15 years.
Sincerely,
XXXXXXX X XXXXXX, President.

To Whom it may concern:
I have known Lyle XXXXXXX for over twenty (20) years. During the span of this
long and interesting friendship I have known him to be a reliable, sensitive and
always supportive friend. Even the times of our lives during which we've had
little contact, I have always been able to reestablish my bonds with him quickly
and securely. His flexibility and understanding are hallmark qualities of
his character.
Lyle had been a hands on manager of a local business for fifteen (15) years
before returning to school to advance his already impressive knowledge of
computer science. During his tenure as a business manager he was responsible
for the handling of large sums of money, inventory control and display, and
personnel management. He did so admirably and more than competently. His
sense of loyalty was a great asset in his long career of retail management as
it would be in any position he assumed.
Lyle is innovative and creative in his approach to his work and his life. He is
comfortable with groups of people and works well in a team setting. He is prompt
and detail oriented in his personal habits. He brings a welcome flair and
imagination into any situation be it social or professional.
I highly recommend Lyle because I know that my trust and confidence are well
placed and will not be disappointed. I know that any employer will find the same
to be true.
I am available at the above addresses and telephone number should you wish
to conduct a more specific discussion.
Cordially,
