MY WORK :
This is what me and my colleagues had to do...:
We worked for the S.E.A. Department - Sport, Entertainmant, Activity - and did the whole thing daily of course in 4 shifts - the first one starting at 07.00 am and the last one ending at 08.00 pm - 9 hours straight - for each of us, with one day off a week. Depending on which shift you got the tasks also slightly varry. The morning ( AC 1 ) persons is out there already so early - almost 3 or 4 hours befor the first guest make themselves comfortable at the pool area, that all you can do then, exept for dancing with yourself - and at that time of the day selfmotivation is especially important - is cleaning the chairmats, opening the informationcenter, the waterslide, the fitnesscenter, putting the whole area in order, maybe if you have time get out the stereo for the activities that follow. Change the lifeguarding flag at the beach, watch the sunrise and then move your ass over to the breakfast room - the most cruel project of all! Try to be in that buffetroom for about 10 minutes when you havn't seen any breakfast in months!!! WE had to be in there for up to 2 hours daily - getting slobbert all over from Puggy, our baby elephant, and try to be more than just indifferent to the guests - get them to join your activities later on - even if all you want to do yourself right now is go back to sleep!
It can be pretty tough - let me tell you!
Highlights of a morning like that was when Nui, Wilai or someone else manages to get some fruit from the kitchen people working at the breakfast! Now that will mean - grap that food - and go somewhere where noone will see you eating it - as food or drink consumption is highly prohibited during working hours - there are TRICKS though to bent that rule! Right you guys? Is Utte arround somewhere???? OK - is Phillip ? someone else like that? Let's go then! Haha!
Or even more cruel : This Crepe and Waffel stand they built up RIGHT next to our info center! That smell! puh! BUT - as anywhere else......tricks....connections....food!!!!!
Appart from that of course our job mainly consists of making sports and also lifeguarding. We have a daily changing scedule that tells everyone working what he/she has to do at what time. Normally we have arround 5 or 6 activities going on a day that my team - in the Waterpark - has to lead: Stretching, Acqurobics, Waterbasket/Volley or Polo, a fungame, Afternoon Aerobics, Beachvolleyball, sometimes Beachsoccer or Takrow. 2-3 times a week we take the guests out for a bike tour, minigolfing, rainforrest tour or some other outing program.
During these you can run across some very funny things - eg. one time we've had a guest with us in the rainforest who could walk on wet ground - we had to carry her back to the bus - a few weeks later the same thing with a kid...
or when Doug and Nui went for the biketour and got lost because Doug relied on Nui to find her way back to the hotel and tried out some awkward new routes... the guest payed Nui 1000 Baht to bring him back home! I still believe that that might work out as quite a nice side income - what do you think Nui - I get them lost - you bring them back and then we share ha sip ha sip!
We had other Activites running to - like Ping Pong, Pool Billiards, board Games, Indoor Games, Archery, Tennis, Squash ( ok, everybody I don't wont to hear a word about my squashing!!!!!) - my eye is much better by the way....
Introductory Scuba Lessons, a Game Room to look after and a Batik Painting Room - the magical world of my good friend Ha!
I am convinced, that there is something I forgot in my list - well the Kids Club - but we - that is anyone working in SEA but not in the Kids Club itself - a subdivision - never really got to do anything in there - exept maybe when all the kids came over for swimming or the waterwalk. Nui are you still holding the record in the category : Above 20's ?
I guess that's it mainly ...

10 THINGS I AM PROUD OF:
1.) I saved a guy from drownding...
2.) I had the courage to stick my finger into Puggy's mouth after 3 months...
3.) I survived 4 months without having any breakfast...
4.) I am in second place for the waterwalk of all LBR staff...
5.) I learned how to play Squash ( I don't want to hear anything!!!!)
6.) I did improve my understanding for Thai culture and Thai language...
7.)Having so great friends over there...
8.)Not having killed myself - or letting anyone else do so...
( It didn't lack in possiblities...right Oh, Tat, ....Remembering the :"Why does everybody hit me all the time...?" Phase - which lasted only the whole lenght of my stay... Uan - Why don't you give your answer to this question in the message board ? )
9.)I didn't kill anyone...
10.) that I fell in love with Thailand and it people.
