Californication - Brilliant songs. Not as much rap / funkpunk in this album. Every song as unique as unique can be. Here the RHCP have given a lot more freedom to Chad Smyth on drums. The result - a completely different sound. Good songs = "Around The World", "Otherside", "Californication", "Get on Top", "Easily", "Saviour", "Road Trippin'" etc.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik - More rap in this album. Every song has it's own uniqueness in guitar, bass, songs style and lyrics. You can listen to this album again and again and not get sick of it. Great songs = "Sir Phsycho Sexy", "Blood Sugar Sex Magik", "Give It Away", "Under The Bridge", "Mellowship Slinky in Bminor", "Suck my Kiss", "I Could Have Lied" etc. This could be RHCP at their best.

Freaky Styley - [have not heard]

The Uplift Mofo Party Plan - (1984). This album was recorded when only Flea and Anthony were in the band. The other members were (?) and (?). (?) died in 1985 and then (?) left the band. There are some great songs on this album like "Fight Like A Brave" and "Subterranean Homesick Blues" and the rest of the songs are hard and fast.

One Hot Minute - Great album with REAL funky tunes like "Warped", "Aeroplane", "Coffee Shop", "My Friends" etc. There are also some brilliant instrumentals on this album. One Hot Minute has the perfect balance of format with Hard On songs, and Smooth songs. This is the first time RHCP did stuff different to the likes of "The Uplift..." and "Mothers Milk".

The Red Hot Chili Peppers - [have not heard]

Mothers Milk - The first album by the current members. Great album with a big mix of styles. Excellent songs = "Nobody Wierd Like Me", "Knock Me Down", "Fire", "Good Time Boys" "Higher Ground" etc. Listen to the real TWANG of the bass on these songs. Anthems. Singalongs. Punk Rock Ballads.

Other Albums (greatest hits or live) - "Out in L.A.", "What Hits?", "The Abbey Road E.P" etc.

JOHN FRUSCIANTE

Lead guitarist John Frusciante has started playing solo. He has one album - "To Listen To Water For One Hour" which includes the songs "Going Inside", "Ramparts" etc. The music is more soft rock than the RHCPs but the album is great.
