Gaming

I spend quite a bit of my time paying games on multiple platforms. I have no real favorites because every year a better game comes out with better graphics or better plot basis or something that no other game had. I have played all platforms except X-Box, but i have no particular favorite except for my computer, otherwise they are all somewhat the same. Below is a list of platforms and games for the particular platforms that i enjoy playing on.

Nintendo Entertainment System, the predecessor to almost 10 major gaming platforms. After the shortlived Atari era, it was a revolution in home entertainment and changed the meaning of doing nothing.

Nintendo Entertainment System Games

Contra, the first 1st person shooter game that was worth playing. A great game all together and i would recommend anyone who wants to play it should.

Mario Brothers, the first game for nintendo. Still a popular game among many avid gamers, as well as being considered a classic in all gamers books.

Mario Brothers 3, the second sequal to the first, an even better game than the original with more worlds to explore and an even better plot than the first.

Zelda, the first true RPG (Role Playing Game) that was the predecessor to many other great Zelda adventures, a great game alltogether, but a bit lingering at times. It was also the first attempt (to my recolection) at being able to save your progress in a game.

Super Nintendo Entertainment System - The second major platform, third overall, from Nintendo that ran with a 16 bit processor and had better overal game graphics and storylines as well as longer game play with a wider assortment of games.

Super Nintendo Entertainment System Games

Super Mario World, fourth in the long series of Mario Brothers games. With much better graphics than any others before it, it was a great game. The plot was a little shakey with you having to rescue eggs. Other than that i give it two thumbs up.

Street Fighter, I believe it to be one of the best fighting games ever. With an all-star cast, it emediatly became a favorite among gamers everywhere. Though it did have a few flaws and after you beat the game it became less interesting, I think it is still a great game.

SuperMario Allstars, The collection of all the Mario games, made for the supernintendo system, which contains Mario Brothers 1, 2, 3, and Mario, The lost Levels

Super Ninja Turltes 3 an all-together great game. With a supposedly "free environment" with a great plot, kill everybody and win the game. I believe it did best as an arcade game because it was possible to beat the arcade version whereas the supernintendo version was very difficult to beat

Playstation Entertainment SystemSony's First big game platform that shot off like a rockey the day it came on the market. still widely used, it is now overshadowed by its "offspring" PS2. A great system all together with numerous games that are all great games themselves.

Playstation Entertainment System Games

Final Fantasy VII, one of many games in a long series of excellent games. Working for the orginization that runs the world, "cloud" must find a way to stop sephiroth from destrying everything he thought he knew. While journeying through a 3 disc world, there are many side quests, characters and extra missions you can journey on.

Final Fantasy VIII, another in the long line of Final Fantasy games that i believe was the best out of all of them. With a much less complicated fighting system and better overall plot, character design, character type, and movies, it was raved on from all over the world. With a much longer storyline that any other Final Fantasy Game, it provided hours of more gameplay with 4 discs instead of 3.

Final Fantasy IX, one of the most anticipated games for Playstation that had great potential, but ended up a flop. With a record time of playing the entire game in 1 weekend, my friend and I thought that it was a poorly designed game all together. The entire plot structure was very unstable and week at points in the game. Though the movies and the realtime action graphics were also very good, the plot destroyed any potential that the game might have had. I personally suggest that you never attempt or never at all play it, unless you are trying to play all of the Final Fantasy Games from the begining.

Parasite Eve 2, an all together great game. This two disk 1st person shooter with a plot (which until the Parasite Eve series was made, did not really succeed because intertwining plot and shooting just didn't work before it) was a great success. Though lingering at times, what the plot lacked, it made up for in killing and movies, and the same for when the others lingered at times. One real difficulty that it posed was the fighting mode. In order to fight, Aya would go into a sort of "hunter seeker" mode that was very difficult to fight in and was quite possibly what made it such a great game.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica, though i have never personally played it, my friend raves about it and its sequal Resident Evil: Code Veronica X for playstation 2. If he says it is the best of all the resident evil series, then it must be. I will check it out one weekend and give more feedback.

Playstation 2 Entertainment System, the second game system that sony produced and with the exception of computers, I believe is the greatest gaming system ever. Running on a 128bit system, the PS2 has a wide variety of games and abilities. As well as play games, the PS2 can play games with other players on the PS2 network. It also plays cd's and DVD's.

Playstation 2 Entertainments System Games

Grand Theft Auto 3, is one of the two reasons that I bought the system. It and Metal Gear Solid 2 were the games that put PS2 on the big map. Being anticipated ever since word of a 3-d free roaming environment game was coming out, everybody prepared for this game. With its release on September 9, 2001, it did not recieve the attention that the makers thought it would get. After the events of September 11, 2001, GTA3 was pulled from the market and reprogrammed and put back on the market in time for christmas. In January 2002, rumors sirculated that it was going to be pulled permanatly due to a 900% increase in sales after its re-release. It has to be one of the most controversial games ever made and if you have not played it yet, DO SO NOW!

Grand Theft Auto Vice City, the fourth in the GTA series, which was one of the most anticipated games for PS2, which I waited for for a month, delivered an alltime great gaming experience. The game, based off of Miami Vice, takes place at the southernmost tip of Florida, is about a gang member, Tommy Vercetti, who is finally free from jail. After taking a job with his old boss, he runs into some trouble and must find a way to get back the money and drugs that were stolen from him. Another great tale of crime and corruption, with precedents and begginings to the stories told in GTA3, it is an all time great and you must play it some point in life.

Computer Games

Something I have devoted my time to eversince i got my first computer, the Grid 1755, I have loved playing computer games. Since my first real game Sim City Classic, i have loved playing games. Throughout the years i have played very many games and every year they get better but more complicated and as they get more difficult, my skills as a gamer improve signifigantly.

Computer Games

Sim City Classic, a game that was very revolutionary in itself, let you become the creator of your own city and design it how you wanted it to look, appear and function. Difficult to an extent, it eventually got rather boring after you beat all the scenario's and got tired of the basic missions. Unless you have nothing else to do, i wouldn't suggest playing it just because the newer versions are far more superior

Twinsen's Odyssey, the first rpg that i played, which was the journey of Twinsen must save his world his planet from the aliens trying to take over his world from their orders from their "re-arisen" god, which you figh in the first game, who is controlling their minds and amking them think that the Tiwnsoniums are a threat to their existence. As your adventure through your world, and later to the moon of Twinsum and their world, you leanr many new skills and get beter weapons and venture on new adventures, each one getting harder and harder. Then with the help of syndal, the protector of Twinsum, you stop the threat of destruction of your world and save everybody, become friends with the enemies, and live in harmony with a happily ever after ending.

Grim Fandango, a game about the Mexican folklore of the land of the dead and one's passage through it in order to reach the afterlife, or somewhat of a transition time. As you work in the department of travels of lost souls, you uncover a great plot to take inoccent peoples golden tickens to the afterlife and sell them to anybody with enough money. as you uncover more you go deeper into the plot and discover more crime and corruption than you ever thought possible. This great two disk game is very adventurous and fun. Though a bit challengingat times, I suggest you play it if you have the time.

Baldur's Gate, the first rpg that takes place in 13th century European folklore. Mixing reality with fantasy in a large 5 disc adveture to avenge your fathers death from the dark lord Sarevok. As you adventure you partake in many side quests and adventures and the ability to manipulate your party by being able to select your party members and equipping them to your desire so that you may fight the greater evils of the world. Though it took me a few years to beat (mainly due to lack of wanting to play in the beggining because of boredom) it eventually became very interesting and very difficult as i ventured deeper into the game and advanced the plot farther. I wouldn't suggest playing mainly because it takes so much time and as well as taking up to 3.5 gigs on your hard drive unless you just absolutly have to play it.

Diablo 2, the rpg i am preasently bussied with, which i would suggest playing if it came down to it. A bit lingering at times, the game is very good most of the time with a rich story line and free roaming abilities as well as being able to choose from a wide variety of weapons and skills that you yourself select and decide what to build up. Unfortunatly only having a limited number of movies in which you findout about the release of the dark lord Diablo from his first imrisonment. If you have the time i would suggest playing it.

Dungeon Siege, Microsofts latest attempt at an rpg which that was very succesfull though having a failed miltiplayer platform. As a farmer who's life is destroying by orc's ogre's and other demonic demons, you avenge the death of you family and friends and take up arms in order to destroy all those in league with the dark power. A very long and adventurous game it did lack in free roaming ability. The gaming only worked one way and that was forward. In order to go back to a previous city or town or place in the game you had to travel back through all of the side quest and other missions that you had beaton. An alltogether very entertaining game, I would suggest playing it if you wish to play a goodrpg with action, adventure, and a good story line, though the multiplayer mode lacked a bit.
