Pakistan
All these pictures were taken on the flight Isfahan- Kerman- Zahedan (on the border with Pakistan). Above the city of Kerman, which appears in almost the same colours as the semi-desert around. On the right a paticularly desolate housing project near the airport
The fields around this village seem as dry as the surroundings
Just beyond Kerman is a mountain range with peaks over 4000m. Passing this range you are above the great Dasht-e Lut, Desert of Emptiness, which is very spectacular from the air
Arrival at Zahedan, on the Pakistan border and only 50km from Afghanistan. This ugly and dusty place is used by smugglers between the 3 countries and is best avoided, but with Afghanistan as the only other alternative overland route to Pakistan and India quite a few people are passing through
