Ok.  Let me start evaluating and using my achieve and maintain motto.   I guess my first step is to list the areas which I think are important right now in my life that this motto can help.

            Mind and Intelligence
            Health and Body
            Organization and Cleanliness
            Family and Friends
            Finance and Money
            Spirituality and Religion

Ok that seems to cover them in general.  I am sure I can think of more but I am just brainstorming here.  Now I need to find out how achieve and maintaining can influence these areas and what tools, devices, organization, and tasks can help me accomplish what I want.  I am going to start with small steps that can lead to ultimate goals.

Let's start with one of my own most neglected areas, religion. (Seems appropriate on the holy day of Immaculate Conception.)  I once asked my father what his goal in life was.  He said to get into heaven.  I asked him again thinking he didn't understand the question.  The answer I was looking for was somewhere contained in finance and career and family and retirement.  He said the major goal is to get into heaven, all the rest is bullshit.  I was floored.  He is right.  If I go through life with just the immediate trivial goals on my mind, it won't mean diddley when I am dead.  But yet we don't spend enough time maintaining the relationship with God.  Especially me.  Though good at heart I have a lot of vices that are most likely straining my relationship with God.
For those of you who know me well, ya know my family is Catholic.  So my point of view is going to be from this religion.  I am not preaching conversion, claiming my religion is better, touting the Bible over say the Torah, or any such related topic.  Each persons relationship with God is individual.  Even those that don't believe in God have a spiritual side.  The point is to embrace your spiritual side in which ever way you choose.  So with that said ,lets pick a task out that
I personally can do to achieve and maintain my relationship with God.

           Go to church on Sundays.
Yeah this is a tough one especially after a Saturday night of drunken debauchery.  Going to try though.  I am going
to enlist the aid of my parents to get my ass up and drag me to church.  I guess it is tough to let God in if I don't go
and heart what He has to say.  So on my private calendar goes two Sunday hours for church every week (I figure
two with wake-up and drive time.) . I'll find out if the parents have a set mass they hit every week,  If they don't I will
have to schedule a task every Saturday of asking which mass they are going to.

Yep that is the first task (maybe two)  I am going to add to my achieve and maintain calendar.  See it is a small step.  Never try too much.  I could go on and add a huge list of things like reading the bible, charity work, daily prayers.. but for now just one step to start. Until it comes routine. Just like this example make sure if you need to enlist help of other people.  Use your resources to their best potential.  This task for me also has the potential of increasing or maintaing my relationship with my family.

I hope no one gets the impression that I am religious fanatic.  This is just an area of my life I want to enhance.  And Lord knows I need to.   Without this ultimate goal in life, as my father told me when i was young, the rest is bullshit.

Bless all who read this,
