Whoa, just under the wire for a Monday entry in ye olde web log.

Well today I want to discuss my wardrobe.  Yes I do know it's winter.  No I am not cold.  Yes I do own long pants but prefer shorts.  No I do not think I am Jimmy Buffet (he has much more money).  The sandals stay on till it starts snowing and then it becomes a judgement call.  I don't care if the hawaiian shirt is too loud for your taste and inappropriate for the weather..

You see I tend to keep myself in a permanent Margarittaville, at least mentally.  When everyone else is freezing around me in twice as much clothing, I am talking to Romeo fleming about the Lizards football team's upcoming season in a little diner on Snake Bite Key while Aurora Porter (or her sister Bora Alice) pours me a cup of tea.  It's all mental.  Sure many a time even I don't have the strength in my mind to keep out the -20 degree windchill.  But I try and  I have a lot of training.

See the basement apartment in which I live in is usually about 65 degrees year round.  I keep tons of blankets for guests but personally I run around in my boxers (if that) and still feel hot.  So the weather we are currently feeling is simple for me.

Now don't get me wrong.  When I do decide that mother nature has finally gotten the better of me (took a blizzard one year), I dress warm and sensible, all the way down to my thermals. But that is only after She and I do our little tug of war every winter.

The only other reason I dress "off season" is to keep people guessing.  Longs pants on a 90 degree day and shorts on a 30 degree day.  In one bar I worked, customers used to have betting pools on what I was going to wear.  So I suppose it is a bit of a hold over from the bartending days when you would do crazy things just to keep people coming back.  But the real reason is because I want to.  I am who I am.  I really don't care too much about other peopls opinions.  I like being comfortable and that is confortable to me.  Plus in my heart I long to be in a tropical paradise such as Snake Bite Key, Heat Wave, Louisiana.
