"It is important to point out first that not all people should go Greek. It is a calling as with any affiliation that one takes on. Each of us chooses a support system in the form of a group or organization to get us through our college years. The beauty of many Greek organizations is that these affiliations become our family. We dont expect all people to understand but we hope that others will see our PRIDE, RESPECT, and our passion for this organization. Our letters, calls, salutes, and chants are a way for us to exhibit our pride in an exciting and different way.
There are two types of education one can acquire in college; that which we gain from a book and that which we only achieve through experience. Our organization is a vehicle for the latter type of education. Belonging to this organization, based on the principles of Unity, Love, and Respect, has given me the strength, endurance, and enthusiasm to thrive in a world with many uphill battles. When I look at my Sisterhood, I do not remember the parties and the socials, but the laughter, tears, support, and lessons that contribute to my character today. And this is why I chose to be part of LAMBDA THETA ALPHA LATIN SORORITY INCORPORATED. And I say that with PRIDE."
