I have tried in my own humble way to
express myself in very few simple poems since I was a child. But I never really
considered myself being talented as a writer.
I have no record of such poems, and the following is a list of those I
still recall or just recently made.

Shall
I say “I Love You” There was a time that I
fell in love with a married man…the feeling was so intense that I struggled to
express it without saying anything to him, hence this poem served as my
outlet. I also created a melody for it,
but I did not have the technical know-how to format it in a way that musicians
can play and sing it.

Ang Probinsyana As
a child I was so fond of reading the Liwayway
Magazine, a local magazine that had a nationwide circulation. There was
this short novel about a typical Filipina who was enticed to come to Metro
Manila with promises to earn good money and ended up using her body and got
pregnant as a consequence. To my naïve mind then, that story moved me a lot
that I was inspired to make a poem out of it.

had no honors when I graduated (thanks to parenthood!), but I managed to
receive the Revalida Merit Award (given to the graduate who got the highest
score in the final written and oral exam given after the Clerkship period).
Hence, I was the one who gave the speech during the Commencement Exercises.
