'What is needed of my character to join?' I hear you ask! We only request that potential recruits be members of the Imperial Faction in order to join our Company. We can train you the rest of the way.
There are no special skills required (except a combat skill, unless you are joining our Civillian Support Team). We like all our members to have at least a Novice combat skill of some kind, preferably Novice Marksman. Novice medic is also a handy skill to have, as you will be able to heal yourself and others when they are injured or incapacitated.
The real qualification we are looking for, though, is your character. If you don't like being part of a team, or you give up easily, Gamma Company is not the place for you. See the section on roleplaying, as every member should have at least some grasp of this fundamental ability. We are a roleplaying Company, and we need only those willing to really play their characters to join us.
Advice for Potential Recruits
If you are thinking of joining but need the first 200 Faction Points to join the Imperials, do not panic! If you contact any of the senior officers they will gladly send you waypoints for Imperial Mission Terminals at Mos Eisley, and at Eisligarde (where you will experience much less lag!).
Why not team up with someone else who is trying to join the Imperials? You can then take on harder missions together, to give greater XP and FP. Don't team up with someone that is already an Imperial, as you will not be able to do their missions until you are Imperial yourself!
Advice for New Recruits
So you're in the Company, you've got your rank of Recruit, what next? Your first task is to obtain your armor, as this will not only make you look and feel more like a part of the Company, but will also grant you promotion to Private and then to Private First Class as a full Trooper. My advice is to head for the Emperor's Retreat on Naboo. You can operate from Sidious City, which is located right on the Emperor's doorstep. Again, we can provide waypoints if you need the exact locations. Once at the Retreat, attempt the missions given by the NPC's there (NOT Lt Velso, as his is for the Corellian Corvette). By the end of the missions you will have recieved one free piece of reinforced Stormtrooper armor, a few thousand Faction Points, plus a few rare loot items which you can either sell or use. If you are lucky, you will receive the chestplate, which is the most expensive (FP wise) piece of Stormtrooper armor. Remember, you only need half your armor to qualify for promotion to Private - that's your next goal!
The Emperor's Retreat CAN be soloed! I did it with Novice Marksman (only concentrating on Carbines) and Novice Medic. If you do not have Novice Medic you will die! So team up with someone else and help eachother get through the missions.
Put the Guildchat to full use, and use it to meet up with other Troopers and recruits, and to listen out for special missions and events. The more people you work with, the more friends you will make here. If you need help on missions, team up with other recruits, or ask for help on the Guildchat. People will always help out if they can and are not busy on something else.
We often arrange planned missions, also the occasional surprise mission (!) as well as Company events (see 'EVENTS' page of this holonet site) and we also attend Imperial events and functions. New recruits are almost always welcome to attend, and it is a good way to meet people and get recognised within the Company.
Remember, if you ever need help or advice, just ask! Mail your Squad or Platoon Leader if you cannot get help on Guildchat and they will get back to you. Failing that, mail the Company Commander or 2iC. We do not mind your questions, as we are all here to help you achieve your goal: becoming an Imperial Stormtrooper!
