Today, is my official day for reflection about Paul Williams. The singer, the entertainer, the philanthropist. I've learned more than what pure singing and entertaining is from listening to and watching him.  I've learned about his character, his giving nature. He was genuinely a great person. I never thought I would mourn the loss of someone I never had the pleasure of meeting. But he's touched me. And in return, I choose to honor his memory, legacy, life and work with my dedication and this year's tribute. -----Nia

"Be Ever Wonderful" by Earth, Wind, and Fire

What's More Wonderful
by Nia

Imagery evoking fierce emotion
Lighter, heavier, sensual, intense
Forceful declamation, perfect balance
Deep, mellow, full - smooth vocalization

Harmonizing above the succession
With dramatic, syncopated movements
Acting too, an artist in any sense
Paul's signature style, technique - pure passion

The triple threat, what's more wonderful
The vocal attack and symphonic pull

Teasing, caressing; I'm bound in your palm
I'm captured by the mellifluousness
Commanding, soothing, challenging and calm
To the crescendo of melodic bliss

Goodbye

If I should leave this world
Without a warning,
And not even whisper a fond farewell,
Grieve not for one more message
From the lips that God has stilled.

But just remember me with love
And prayers for my soul's journey
To that far land beyond life's tears.
For I have believed with all my heart
In its existence, and I know that

God is good, for He has come to me
Through the life of Him whose very
Garment I have sought to touch.

It may be lonely, and I hope you miss me
Just a little, because I have loved so deeply.
Forgive me if I have ever hurt you
And remember me for what I longed to be.

Have faith that I am nearer than
Your dreams and fondest longings.
For the God of love shall keep all
Kindred spirits close together,
Though the misty vale between
This world and that to come

Keep us from each other's sight
For a few precious moments.
Whisper softly that you love me
And it shall linger on within my soul
Until you come.

Say not good-bye,
For on some bright tomorrow
We shall meet again
