Comments: This is as good a compilation as you will find anywhere. The tracks are all high quality recordings. The "Opinion" track contains Kurt's conversation with the DJ (the conversation is left off of many discs). The "Lithium Mix Six" track on disc 2 is recorded properly and the drums are not overdriven as found in the Outcesticide series. Not much can be said about compilation discs except for the quality of the sound. The sound is excellent. Disc two could have been a little longer and included more tracks. That complaint aside.... this is as good a place to get these tracks as any.

Comments: This is a great show with excellent sound quality. The sound is what you would expect from an official release and the band plays with a lot of energy. This is the bands homecoming show of the Nevermind tour and the last US date before taking off to Europe. Supposedly, "Spank Thru" and "Molly's Lips" were also played but those tracks have yet to surface. There's a little jam and Krist jokingly says "White boy funk sucks!".. hence the "White Boy Funk" jam that is listed im many bootleg guides. The early "Rape Me" and "Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam" are nice... but the power and clerity of the show are the real highlights.

Comments: This is possibly the greatest Nirvana show. Since this disc was released, "The Last UK Show : Reading 92" has surfaced with an additional two tracks (still incomplete). There are quite a few Reading '92 releases... Disc 4 from the "Into the Black" box set contains the "1st FM Broadcast." There is also an 18 track version which is known as the "2nd FM Broadcast." Points from the disc rating were deducted because of the missing tracks. All discs containing this show from either broadcast are incomplete. Everything about the performance is great! The band is alive and jokes about how this is their last show. This was Nirvana's come-back show... the press had dogged the band with rumors of their demise and Kurt's problems. At the start of the show Kurt was rolled onto the stage in a wheelchair wearing a wig and a gown... he feebly stood before the microphone and uttered the first two lines of "The Rose" before collapsing onto the stage. He was obviously mocking the press. For laughs, the band covers Boston's "More Than a Feeling" for a while before kicking into "Smells Like Teen Spirit". There is also very early version of "All Apologies" which contains alternate lyrics. Kurt tells the crowd that "there have been some pretty extreme things written about us ( himself and Courtney)" and that Courtney felt like everyone hated her. He asks the crowd to say "Courtney we love you!" on the count of three... the crowd obliges and is treated to an early "All Apologies". The early version of "Dumb" is just icing on a already magnificent show!

Comments: Discs five and six get a mixed review because a few of the tracks are defective. The defective tracks only affect the John Peel Sessions, so the show escapes unscathed. It appears that Tribute source for the Peel sessions had errors that make the tracks "click" or leave a split second of silence. The show that is split between the discs in only available in this box set. It's an excellent recording from an open mic source. The crowd can be heard, but doesn't interfere too badly. The set list, while long, doesn't contain any rare performances. The band appears to be "on" and is more lively than usual. It's nice to have a complete show, especially hearing the band play before it's "home crowd." The final track is Courtney's eulogy. It's a perfectly clear recording, but can be found on several bootleg discs. It's the type of thing you'll only listen to once.

Comments: This show is AMAZING!!! Check out the setlist... not one or two rarities, half the show is made of songs that were rarely played!!! Kurt must have decided that they were going to change things up a little bit before the show... after all, they were playing in Seattle and I'm sure many of the audience members had already heard them play the regular songs... for whatever reason, they came out and played a Nirvana bootleggers dream. This show contains as many or more rarities than any other.
The show starts out with an early version of Aneurysm with alternate lyrics (One of the lines is "C'mon over and shoot the s*%t!!!! GAAAAAAAWD D#@*n!!!!). "In His Hands" is momentarily interrupted by a guy talking, but I can't really complain otherwise (it's still the second best recording of the song). Before "Sliver" someone in charge of the club announce that it is 2:00 and all the alcohol has to disappear... 2:00 A.M!!! Krist thanks everyone for staying instead of slipping out to the 7-11 to buy beer. I would imagine that the band was at it's happiest at this time. They truly sound like they're having a good time, they had the freedom to come up with a bizarre setlist on a whim... it just sounds like they were having a blast. If I could choose any Nirvana show to attend, this would have been it.

Comments: Disc 1 - The first thirteen tracks from disc one are an average (B) audience recording. The tape source from which this recording came has a couple of bad spots at about 5 minutes into track 3 and at the beginning of track 10 and 13, the bad spots don't interupt a song. There is editing between songs 11 through 13, so the continuity isn't 100%. The show is somewhat lackluster... nothing spectacular happens, the recording is average and no real rarities were played. It's still nice to have an early 90's show.
Disc 2 - Disc two is a compilation of demos are rare live tracks. Not much can be said for compilations except for the quality if the recordings. This disc is probably a little better than the average compilation disc quality-wise and contains a couple of songs many compilations do not include. Banzai definitely tries to give you your money's worth with two discs averaging about 76 minutes in length.

Comments: Good In Utero performance. The band seems to be in good spirits. Kurt changes the lyrics during School to "David Hasslehoff again". Before Polly, Kurt says "No clapping please"� which only prompts the crowd to clap during the song. This disc contain over half the show, while the remainder of the show can be found on the next disc in this 3CD set.
