Comments: The recording sounds like it came from a VERY generated professional open mic source and has places throughout the discs where the sound drops out for a split second (all releases of this show have this problem). The band is very animated throughout the show. The disc is edited after "Smells Like Teen Spirit", but otherwise seems complete and unedited. The band is as animated at this show as any other, especially when compared to other "In Utero" shows. "Heart Shaped Box" and "Scentless Apprentice" are debuted here also.

Comments: "San Francisco 1993" features one of the first shows where the band incorperates a lot of "In Utero" material. The setlist is a mix of old and new songs ranging from "Dive" and "Negative Creep" to "Milk It" and "Serve The Servents", which makes the setlist very unique. The sound is from an above average audience recording. Crowd noise can be heard throughout, but doesn't obstruct the songs. Kurt seems to be picking the songs as the show progresses. He plays the opening chords to several of the In Utero songs to let the band know which song they were going to play next. Kurt also screws up the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" solo and "All Apologies" is a little rough (guitar errors).

Comments: This the infamous show where Kurt over dosed before the show and Courtney had to inject him with some other drugs so he would be able to play. A fairly nice show, the only thing that ruins it is how the mic cuts in and out at points, it is really bad at the beginning of �Serve The Servants� and you can not even hear the first verse of �Drain You� plus the show is incomplete. This version is missing the second half of �Aneurysm�, (Some dummy thought it would be funny to edit it so it sounds like the band kicks straight from the "Aneurysm Intro" into "Milk It" {Yes "Aneurysm" was played in its complete form. And I believe that this was the last time it was played live.} ) Blew, & �Territorial Pissings�. This was also the first time the band introduced a acoustic set to their setlist. Comments: This is a complete, average sounding, audience recording. Other things to note are the fact that this is a complete recording of the show. There is a blank span of a few seconds on the first disc immediately after the bands introduction, and "About A Girl" gets muddy at one point. The last track is a phone message recording of Kurt Cobain. The tape is a tad slow, but you can tell it's Kurt. He sounds drunk/stoned and pissed. Apparently he's speaking to a reporter he's not very happy with.

Comments: This is a very solid double CD. The disc was mastered from a digital source and is very crisp and clear.. unfortunately there is crowd noise throughout. The crowd noise isn't too bad except for some of the quieter songs (i.e. Dumb and Polly). The Stockholm tracks are the real treat and include some nice rarities.
The 12-10-93 show is very common on all accounts. The band says very little and Krist even tells the crowd they would say more "but our tele-prompters are broken". Kurt also tells the audience that he has a new effects box. The nicest thing about the show is that it IS complete and there are a LOT of songs played (26 songs if you include "Endless Nameless").
The Stockholm show is great! The first track "The Money will Roll Right In" starts out with Kurt babbling to the audience...

Comments: "New Years Eve" captures a long energetic performance by the band from a digital audience source. The sound is crisp and clear throughout with the only complaints being some occasional audience talk and low volume on a few of the quieter songs. There is quite a bit of interaction between the band and the audience during the performance, including a highlight where Kurt stops in the middle of "Jesus Don't Want Me For A Sunbeam" to laugh at an audience member "copping a feel" (someone was apparently "feeling up" his girlfriend)!! The whole band stops and laughs at the offending audience member.
The show is quite long and spans over both discs (25 songs in all). At the end of the performance, Kurt starts talking about how long it will be until the countdown "How long� 3 Minutes!!! We have to stall for 3 minutes???!!!!" Dave chimes in "I can do a drum solo" and he starts beating his bass drum while the crowd goes nuts. Shortly after Dave begins his solo, Kurt begins the countdown to the new year, afterwhich Kurt tells the audience "Happy New Year!" (if you have the video, you see Paulie Shore lowered to the stage in a cherub costume). It's a little sad to hear the band in such good spirits knowing that there were only 2 months of shows left.
The filler on disc two is the 12-28-88 show. The introduction is actually hidden at the end of track 6. The last track is Krist's eulogy at Kurt's memorial service.
