Dont own LotR, so dont sue Arwen.
Chapter 5: Gloom and Doom.
Are they still coming? Eldarion asked his mother as she sat on her throne.
Yes, Eldarion. Your great-grandparents are still coming from Lothlorien. Theyve already left, and theyd be disappointed if I sent out a messenger saying that they should go back because theyre great-grandson doesnt want to see them. Arwen sighed.
Then I guess theyll be disappointed, because I already sent it.
ELDARION!!!!! Arwen screamed. If your father was sane enough to hear this, youd be a dead little boy!
Well, hes not. And Im not a little boy. Im 17.
Dont talk back to me!!!
As you wish, Mother. Eldarion said, praying that Arwen didnt hear the note of sarcasm in his voice. He bowed to his mother and left the room, also hoping that shed remember the note of sarcasm that was in his voice when he said hed sent the letter. Its a school holiday, and I really dont feel like getting grounded.
Kalensthar rushed into the throne room just after the princes exit. Eldarion! Get back here! I dont want to be alone with him! Arwen cried. Eldarion ran back into the throne room to stand guard near his mother.
Milady, good news! The king has returned to his sensessomewhat.
Somewhat? Whats that supposed to mean? Eldarion asked.
Well, hes still a little crazy, but I think hell be okay by the time the Lady Galadriel and the Lord Celeborn arrive. Kalensthar stated. That is our hope, anyway. He added, just as a little insurance.
Very well. You may leave, Kalensthar. Arwen said. And Eldarion, if you like, you may visit your father in the Houses. But dont stay too long. We dont want to interfere with your fathers recovery.
Yes, Mother. Eldarion said. I think I will go see Dad. It might be fun.
A few minutes later, Eldarion arrived at the Houses of Healing. He was admitted after a few minutes by a reluctant guard, and was sent in to see Aragorn, who was again sitting in a corner, only this time his sword was sheathed and he was singing an old Elvish folk song.
Dad? Eldarion asked, walking towards Aragorn. Its me, Eldarion.
Aragorn looked up, and at the sight of his son, his eyes lit up. Hi! Do I know you? You look familiar. Are you the pizza guy?
Pizza guy? Eldarion shouted, offended. Im your son you dufus!
I have a pizza guy for a son? Wow! Im so proud! Aragorn pulled his son into a huge embrace, which unnerved Eldarion more than ever.
Dont hug me, please. You never hug me. Youre hardly ever proud of me! Or at least you dont ever say it. And Im NOT A PIZZA GUY!!!
Oh. Thats right. You wouldnt be a pizza guy. I ordered Chinese.
Um yeah. Im the Chinese delivery guy. Your total comes to $5000, Sir. Eldarion smiled wickedly.
Aragorn opened his wallet and pulled out a wad of bills 6 inches thick. I cant count. Is this enough?
Eldarion took the money from his father and counted through it. 1, 2, 9, 17,28, 32, 87, 2054, 5000. Yes, sir, this will be enough. Eldarion pocketed the 10 thousand some dollars and handed Aragorn an empty garbage bag. There you go, sir. Enjoy your food. He smiled even more wickedly than before, and began to leave.
Wait a minute! Aragorn yelled. Get back here!
Oops. Eldarion muttered as he turned around to face his father again. Is there a problem, sir?
There most certainly is. Aragorn stated. I forgot to give you your tip! He opened his wallet again and began to dig out silver and gold coins. Here. Sorry its not much, but I think my son the pizza guy stole all my money. Are you my son too? You look familiar, too.
Um yes. Im your son the Chinese delivery guy. Im the better kid. My stupid brother is no good. He cant even deliver a pizza on time!
Wow! I have two sons! And they both work with food!!! Ive never been so proud!!!!
Yeah, Dad. Pizza Guy and I are really happy to be working in such a field. We just hope that our sons can be as great as we are. We take after you, you know.
What do I do? Aragorn asked, plopping down on the ground like a little kid eager to hear a fairy tale.
Youre a king. You sit down all day and play and eat the food that me and my brother make.
WOW!!! Can you bring me some food now??
Eldarion looked at his watch and noticed it was getting late. Sorry, but my shift just ended. My sister will be along soon, though. Shes the girl that brings milk bottles every day.
COOL!!!!!! Aragorn shouted. I have kids!!
You most certainly do. And thanks for the tip. Eldarion took the additional one hundred dollars in gold and silver from his father and left the Houses of Healing. I really need to get into delivering food to crazy people. Eldarion said as he headed home.
The next day, the party from Lothlorien was crossing the plains of Rohan. Celeborn was leasing the way followed by Haldir and Galadriel, along with Haldirs brothers and several other elves.
WHEEE!! Celeborn shouted as his horse sped along. Wind in my beautiful, natural blond hair!! I feel so free!!
Um, My Lord? Haldir said. You dropped your bottle of Herbal Essences Hair Dye.
EEEPPP!! Celeborn jumped off his horse, landed head first in a pile of horse refuse, and ran to the tiny bottle that had a golden solution in it. Uh-oh. Horsey! Horsey come back!! He ran, half blinded by horse poop, through the crowed of elves and horses. Galadriel, Haldir, wheres Horsey??
Here, Sir. Haldir, who had chased after Horsey, handed the reins to Celeborn.
All the while, Galadriel was shaking her head, which was in one hand. The other held the reins of her horse. She was nearly shaking with laughter. Not my husband. Dont know who he is, but hes not my husband. It wouldnt be any fun if he was, I mean what?
My Lord and Lady, we are nearing the realm of Gondor. Shouted a servant not far behind Galadriel.
Now I know why Elrond complains. Arwen DID move too far away from home! Galadriel said. I always thought he was just being a baby. I mean, Celebrain was the one who was always doing all the thinking and work. Elrond just used my poor daughter!
Ummm, Grandma? Elrohir and I are here, you know. Elladan pointed out. And you know that Dad always makes us report back to him.
Shut up. Galadriel said, turning her attention to her husband again, who was now trying to get back onto Horsey. It was a very amusing sight, since he wouldnt let his bottle of hair dye out of his grasp even to pull himself into Horseys saddle.
Its amazing how un-creative he was when he named that poor horse. Haldir muttered as Celeborn tried and failed for the fifth time to get up onto the horses back. It finally took 6 elves to get the Elf King onto the horse, and by that time, no one was very happy. Its still early enough to claim that I dont know him, right? I mean, no one that important has seen him near me, so I think I can still get out of it, right? He asked Galadriel, who was thinking the same thing herself.
Galadriel sighed. Its going to be a long journey
++++++++++
Wow. That was good. And Im sorry if I confused anyone with Eldarins visit to his father. Aragorn thought he was two people, so Eldarion was just playing along. Overall, this was a great chapter. What can I say, I love my work. Once again, thanks to Tinuviel for the inspiration for the last scene. As you might be able to tell if youve read the other stories on Lothlorien, Im trying to make this tie in with them. So far its working well. Well, Im off to Spring Break at my aunts on Saturday, so I might not get much done, but if I do, Ill be sure to put it up ASAP. Tenna' ento lye omenta (Until next we meet) this is Arwen. Bye!
