Part two, The Two Towers, continues part one and is followed by part three, The Return of the King. In the beginning, Frodo and Sam continue their journey to Mordor and find Gollum, the hideous creature that also bore the ring. Gollum ends up as their guide and leads them almost-safely on Meanwhile, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli are still in hot pursuit of the band of Uruk-Hai that took Merry and Pippin. They meet up with Eomer, who has just been banished from Rohan by Grima Wormtounge, slave of Saruman. Eomer tells them that they slaughtered the band of Uruk-Hai in the previous night. Thinking merry and pippin are dead, Legolas, Aragorn, and Gimli go to the site of the uruk- hai's "bonfire" and with aragorn's nice use of ranger abilities, discover that merry and pippin are not dead, but they just have fled into fangorn forrest. During all this hubbub merry and pippin are being chased by an orc even deeper into fangorn, since they are without weapons, who can blame them? They meet up with Treebeard, an ent, who squishes the orc and takes them to Gandalf The White. We are brought back to Frodo and Sam who have been lead out of emyn muil, and into the dead marshes, out of the marshes, and to the black gate. They see an army of southrons going into the black gate. Gollum tells Frodo of the secret way into Mordor and they decide to take it. Meanwhile legolas, aragorn and Gilmi are still folowing the trail of merry and pippin and they find gandalf the white and ride to Edoras. While there they rescue king theoden from saruman's enslavement and send wormtongue fleeing to saruman. Theoden's people flee to helms deep. Saruman decides to attack helms deep and wipe Rohan off the map. On the road to helms deep the population is attacked by warg riders, but reaches helms deep with a great loss of soldiers. Aragorn has fallen off the cliff and all think he is lost. frodo and sam continue on through the forests of ithilen lead on by golum. while watching southrons travel to mordor they are captured by faramir and his company. they are taken to an unknown place and are then taken to osgiliath, in gondor. aragorn is rescued in a way by arwen, and is on his way to helms deep when he sees saruman's army marching there. he quickly rides to tell theoden of this treebeard, merry, and pippin head toward the center of the forest to entmoot, a meeting of the ents, the ents must decide if they will aid rohan or leave it to it's fate. back at helm's deep aragorn tells theoden of the tenthousand orcs marching towards helms deep. theoden has all of his army ready for the battle but it is not enough. elves from Lothlorien((HEHE)) come to save the day with about 600 of them. the battle begins and the ents are still deciding weather to go to war. with some coaxing merry convinces them to and then the ents attack and destroy isengard. then the riders of rohan come and help and then the trees and bingo! not a single orc alive to tell the tale. frodo and sam and gollum are released and continue following gollum's direction towards mordor that is where this movie ends. but then it is continued by the return of the king.
