One of the two actual members of the Human race is Boromir, played by Sean Bean. He is the son of loco-coco Denethor and brother of Faramir.
Boromir attempts to cop a �Tommy Toughass� attitude early on, but soon finds that role filled by someone else. In our brief glimpse, we only get to see (mostly) the worst part of him come out as the power of the Ring takes him first. But, he does attempt to redeem himself in the end by fighting very valiantly to save Merry and Pip, even with three tree trunk-sized arrows protruding from him.
~He is the First-Killed of the Rings (not at all related to the First-Born, please don�t be confused).
R.I.P. man, and I can�t wait to see ya in a flashback.

We all know that the real Tommy Toughass of this story is none other than the man-with-many-aliases: Aragorn, Strider, Elessar, etc. and is played by Viggo Mortensen. He is the son of Arathorn, Heir of Isildur, and King of Gondor. Hmm�you would think he was important or something.
Aragorn commands every scene and makes it apparent, even early on, that he is The King. He has the amazing ability to fight off dozens of Orcs at a time and willingly jumps into dangerous situations. His one drawback seems to be losing track of Frodo at several very inconvenient times. And although he seems to have much more difficulty keeping himself clean compared to all of the others, he is the only one who has any women interested in him throughout the movies (two even!).
~He is the Player of the Rings.
