This
site was born quite recently, in fact, just after
I finished reading Queen of The Damned for the
third time. I've always been a great fan of Anne
Rice and her Vampire Chronicles, I first read
Interview… when I was 13, after the filmed
version had been released. Unfortunately, due to
my age I couldn't go to see the film as here in
the UK it was an 18 and despite my attempts to
look older I knew I would fail miserably.
Luckily, my babysitter worked part-time at the
Odeon and sneaked me in for free with one of my
friends!
I was immediately enthralled with the incredible
style of the film, the atmosphere was amazing and
Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt were just fantastic as
Lestat and Louis, portraying the characters
convincingly enough to fascinate me, an
impressionable teenager!
Ahh… I digress, yes… the aim of this
site is to give air to some of my views and
opinions and also to publicise some of my art
work. I'm a struggling student and I have a
morbid fascination with other people's personal
art work, which I believe to be a portal into
people's minds, depicting their hopes, dreams and
fears. Some of the pieces I have included are
simple sketches I have done and others are photos
of my finished pieces as I have a habit of
painting enormous murals, the aim of this is to
get the feel of the various styles I divulge
into.
Annoyingly I'm nearly computer illiterate and
this website has been created using publisher,
front page express and crossed fingers. This
means that some of the small images of art work
are in gif format rather than higher resolution
jpgs. Once I've convinced my brother [the
computer literate member of my family] to give me
a hand I hope to change this. In the mean time,
by clicking on the images a larger better
resolution image can be viewed. [ I actually have
no idea what I'm talking about ~ but does it
sound like I do? ]
The
poetry section is mostly written by me, but also
contains some of my favourite lyrics from songs.
I feel that poetry is very personal so I feel
somewhat apprehensive about putting some of my
most intense feelings on the internet. So, please
do feel free to explore this section and if you
have any thoughts on what I have written,
constructive criticisms etc. please, do feel free
to e-mail me - [email protected]
Err…
a little bit about me:
Name: Aimee
Age: 18
Appearance: Small, green eyes, chin length dark
chestnut hair [subject to change], big smile, usually wearing too
much eye make up and grinning madly
Nationality: I am British. Well, sort of British
as my family are Italian ~ German. Which makes
for interesting meals.
Pastimes: going out and drinking excessively then
having horrendous hangovers the next day,
painting, drawing and sculpture, reading, horse
riding, going to the cinema and playing music. Oh
my thrilling life!
I am currently studying art and sciences and I
wish to go on to study medicine and specialise in
surgery. It always makes me smile to know that my
classmates in my senior year decided I was
"girl most likely to have a pencil in her
hair" in retort to my constantly
disorganised demeanour and being the only person
taking art who never had a pencil sharpener or
eraser.
I am currently in and out of various painful
relationships, read the poetry section - I don't
ever have good relationships. But I do have some
great friends who have really been there for me
in the past which I am thankful for.
Anyway, that's enough from me.
If you're nosy… this is what I look like:
