My
inspiration, Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles have
to be some of the most beautifully decadent
novels written last century
I fell in love with the lives of Lestat, Louis,
Armand, Claudia, Marius et al when I was thirteen
and managed to obtain a copy of Interview with
the Vampire after being banned from seeing the
filmed version by my parents. [a long boring
story is omitted here]. For a while I would deny
my fascination with these stories, I always felt
a bit strange talking about that kind of thing
with my peers, mainly because they were all still
desperately in love with Take That. But anyway.
I do wish they were real, but I feel that the
fictional element is what gives the books their
charm, though there is always that element of
"what if
"
I would love to go to New Orleans at some point,
I'm sure I will after university [I'm a bit short
on funding at the moment]. But anyway, living in
Britain isn't that bad, I've been to Paris 5
times and most other European cities, I
especially like Barcelona with it's unique Gaudi
architecture.

It
could be a lot of things, but I relate to the
emotions of the Ricean vampires more than any
other depiction of vampires. They have souls,
they feel emotions such of loneliness, isolation,
guilt, bliss
they suffer as we suffer, but
stay beautiful and as a reflection of their era.
My favourite characters by far are Lestat and
Louis, but since reading The Vampire Armand,
Armand has really grown on me
I think it
was also because I didn't like Antonio Banderas'
portrayal of him in IWTV.
