Genbu Kaiden
The Genbu Seishi appear in volume 9 of Fushigi Yuugi, and episode 34 of the anime. The story of Genbu no Miko is finally unfolding as Watase Yuu has decided to begin telling the story of the Genbu Seishi. So far we still only know a little bit about them but there will be more to come!
Takiko is the Genbu no Miko. Her father, Einosuke, is the translator of the Shi Jin Ten Chi Sho. After Takiko became the Miko and summoned the God Genbu, she returned home and was so consumed in pain from being devoured by Genbu that her father, unable to bear seeing her die so painfully, took her life and then took his own. From Fushigi Yuugi, we only know two of the Seishi; Tomite and Hikitsu, who were killed (Tomite saving a child, and Hikitsu running to help Tomite). Their spirits remained in Mt. Koku to protect the Shinzahou. In the Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden, we have the opportunity to learn about the tragic story of the Genbu no Miko and her Seishi.
