Also based upon the Star Wars: Rebellion computer game
Here is a simple game system designed
to recreate tactical ground
fighting in the Star Wars universe.
This system will help you
relive some of the important battles
depicted in episode
4 to 6 or just create totally new scenarios.
For now, there are no
maps or scenarios on this page, just
the system to play the game.
I intend to design some scenarios soon
but for now, feel free
to make your own.
Designer notes :
Imperial/Alliance is the first game
I created and I am pretty sure it is
not without flaws but it all fit
within the objectives I had in mind while
creating it: a simple game that
can be used to recreate different
type of land-based fights in the
Star Wars universe. I have been
inspired by some other games: "Assault
on Hoth" by Westend Games,
"Hammer-Slammers" by Mayfair Games,
the Ogre/Gev serie by
Steve Jackson and other tactical
warfare games. I don't have any intentions
to declare it the "Squad Leader"
of Star Wars universe. It is just a simple, free
interpretation of what could be
ground combat in a galaxy far,
far away.
The strenght of this system, I think,
is that we can recreate small
engagements as well as big ones.
You can also play it solo wich
is, I consider, a very important
thing. I wanted to make a sequence
of play that would create fluidity
while playing, to get the players
as near as possible to simultaneity
of action.
I hope that you will appreciate this
game enough to create you own
rules, units, map, scenarios, etc.,
and that you will share them with us.
This game can take a lot of modifications.
