Being a keen observer of nature, I am fascinated in how everything is interconnected with each other. I've always been curious of how intricate the balance of nature is. From the simplest to the most advanced form of life, their evolution is determined by the pervading conditions in their environment.
Checks and Balances
Adaptation is a must for survival. In nature, fierce competition is a way of life. In the hidden worlds of living things, be it a single-cell or multi-cells organisms such as viruses, germs, bacterias, insects, and animals, all must struggle and fight in order to live and survive! Yet, there's always been a system of checks and balances. --If, the system is disturbed then comes a catastropic upheaval. There will be inequality and chaos, until balance is once again restored.
Those species that failed to adapt will, of course, perished, and those that succeed will colonize more space and multiply. Nature never stops working; continuously, organisms must keep evolving against the pressures of environment, or else succumb to extinction!
Earth's Dominant Animal
Now, let's make a connection and apply that to the most successful organism of them all -- the human animal! That includes you and me! Human population have gone up the scale, overwhelming other species that can't compete or adapt. With ever increasing numbers, people are like virus that spreads through out the face of the earth, consuming and never giving back in return.
Nature's Check & Balances
Our civilization had tipped the scale of check and balances. Industrialization demands the consumption of earth resources at an alarming rate. Nature can no longer ; recover to maintain an eco-system. We are polluting the air, land and water. Much like a virus, We are abusing, ravaging and overwhelming our host (Mother Earth) and we are also slowly killing ourselves! eco
