| A Sense For Survival Survival means being aware of what's going on around you. Unlike creatures in the wild, we don't have to be in constant alert for fear of being killed or eaten by predators. Fortunately, we live in a community where rules and regulations still applies. We have government to protect the weak from the strong. And even with all the laws that we have, killers, and wrong doers still lurk in our midst waiting for an opportunity. You never can tell if anyone has an evil intention towards you. He/she can be a stranger, a neighbor, or even someone you've known and trusted. Potential ?Enemy In looking for enemies, anybody is a potential nemesis. Those people that are close, (usually friends or relatives) have more opportunity to exploit, take advantage and betray your trust than the people who are a complete stranger. Who Can You Trust? If love, friiendship, compassion and kindness are in the heart of every human being, so are envy, jealousy and greediness. Who, can you trust when priests turned out to be crooked maniacs? Who, can you trust, when practically everybody are dishonest, no code of ethics and immoral? In The Name of Religion What about those religions that are preaching love and righteousness? Or the religions that command, kill all those who have different views and beliefs? |

| Social Conflicts Whenever people live together, there bound to be conflict of some kind. We are social animals, we are also territorial and have the primitive instinct of a hunter from our primordial past. The Rise of A Nation In the past, our ancestors formed communities for economic purposes, a far cry from being a "hunter- gatherer". As a result of living together in colloboration and teamwork, these ancient communities prospered and became towns, cities, and provinces. Grouped together as one, they became a nation. Although differentiated by race, religion and values, they are bonded together by common goal and interest. Through out the whole process, conflicts, infighting and wars set each stage of human progress. Multiply this events ten fold in every part of the world and you can imagine the rise of nations, territories created and boundaries carved. Such history brought to mind the rise of colonization. The strong will assimilate the weak, and so the era of global conquest set an advance stage of human civilization. The Shrinking World With technological breakthrough's in travel and communication, the world suddenly became smaller. Nations that were used to be separated by vast distances were no longer isolated. Event anywhere in the world became a global affair. Political Relation & DiplomaticCoercion The politics of governments in resolving conflicts is complicated. The strong technological advanced nations will have more influence, while in the affairs of men, tyrant leaders will impose their will, taking away all the basic human freedoms to rule their domain and subsequently to conquer neighboring nations for territorial expansion. back Home |
