Living With A Puzzling Disease Called Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a puzzling disease which can impact women during their reproductive years.  The pain that accompanies Endo can run the gamut from mild cramping to such severe pain that renders the woman almost incapacitated for daily life.  At present, the only definitive way to correctly diagnose Endo is through surgery.  There is no cure for Endo and treatment results will vary greatly from one woman to another.  According to statistics, it takes an average of six years for most women to get an accurate diagnosis of Endo.  Because it is considered a female problem, many doctors often misdiagnose or tell the women they just have to grin and bear the pain.

Many doctors, including gynecologists, do not have the experience to effectively treat patients with Endo.  Some do not believe that Endo is truly a disease!

THIS WEBSITE DOES NOT ENDORSE ANY MEDICAL TREATMENT OR OPTIONS.

While much of the information here relates to any woman, I want to focus more on how this horrible disease impacts young adolescent and teenage girls.  Our purpose is to give others a glimpse into real families who are dealing with a daughter, a sister or mom who has been diagnosed with Endo.  These are stories you'll never hear from the medical profession.   Hopefully some of our experiences will make you a more educated medical consumer.
