 "The Million Cedars Tree Planting Project" aims to do exactly as the name says. To plant one million Red Cedar and other high value timber trees along the now denuded slopes of the nature island, Dominica.
Tree seedlings available; Red Cedar, Mahogany, Neem, Coubarril, Saman, Almond, Pomerac, Pendepiece (fruit tree), and Breadnut. All trees cost $5 EC.
Services Available: Visit and assessment of sites for planting trees, preparation of land and planting of trees,
maintenance of trees.

 This non profit center houses Springfield Plantation Guest House, a wooden structure which dates back to the mid-1700s.  The centre has been utilized by universities and other schools from all over the world for over 13 years as a field station for research and education in neo-tropical natural systems. Workshops and training sessions are available in Agro-Forestry; Organic Farming; Eco-Tourism; Food Safety; Food Processing and Sustainable Land Use. Springfield boasts the only herbarium in Dominica, done by Dr. Steven Hill who also did the Dominican collection for The Smithsonian Institute. The entire 195 acre estate has been gardened/farmed organically for many years.  Volunteer Programs.
