Here is a close-up of the hostas in
bloom.

This is the view from our living room
patio window out to the back yard. I love to sit here and watch
birds, bunnies, squirrels and chipmunks play. So does Schuyler!

This gorgeous begonia beckons at our
patio window.

This birdfeeder holds three pounds of
bird seed. We use a special seed that is laced with pepper to keep
the squirrels away. The feeder has separate tubes for mixed seed,
sunflower, and thistle.

Our herb garden on the right of the
photo is loaded with sage, lavender, lemon verbena, fresh mint, and lots
of other tasty aromatic treats for cooking, looking, and smelling.
Every time I mow the lawn I release a glorious lemon and mint fragrance in
the neighborhood.

A new acquisition this summer is the
gazing ball decorative sprinkler. It serves many purposes both
practical and aesthetic.

Phil picked up this stone pedestal at Frank's
Flowerland here in Grand Rapids. I fell in love with the look
and the sentiment. That's what we want to grow here--love!

We had discarded the large tropical
plant two years ago--just put it in the garage, but it kept some green so
we put it outside last summer. Just look what a beauty it is now!
