Just because you are grilling outside
is no reason to use paper napkins and plates. We ate in
comfort. "Cook outside--eat in the dining room" is
an old Roller-Pletcher motto.
|

Julie and her dad prepared this
patriotic cheese cake covered with whipped cream and decorated with
blueberries and strawberries. Artistic Julie did the
decorating. (And, dear family, it was all low-fat.)
|

A cool shot of the table. Think I
should start a new career in photography? Maybe not.
Incidentally in the foreground are pickled Brussels sprouts. Yum!
|

No we didn't grill burgers and
hotdogs--my heart won't take that kind of diet. I did not balk,
however, at replacing that traditional American food with grilled jumbo
shrimp and swordfish, also pasta salad (no fat) and French green beans
with slivered almonds and marjoram.

Julie made Andy a special dessert.
|
Julie's
special dessert for Andy was cheesecake in red, white, and blue, but in
the shape of a heart rather than a flag. Awww! That's our
romantic girl. |
The
dessert was to honor Andy's third anniversary of being in the United
States. He, his mother, and brother came here from Russia, and we
are all glad they did. . . especially Julie! :-) |

Happy third year in the USA,
Andy! |

Andy, Julie and Phil being detained for a photo before I would let
them eat. |
