[899]
Stella Mae Smith was raised by the Mullen Family, after her mother was mur-
dered by a man named "Louis", while her father was on a tour of his sawmills.
The survivors were Stella and her brother Barney. They were saved, out of a
large family, by Stella putting her baby brother in a grandfather clock and
she got between two mattresses. She was 14 when she married my grandfather
and it is said that he bought her dolls for a while and gave her piano lessons
She was a very stylish lady and never remarried after my grandfather died.
