Kassandra's Paradigm: Kassandra believes that magick flows all around the earth and the universe, and because she's a mage she has access to SEE the magick and learn the different keys for unlocking the different kinds of magick that are out there from other mages who have the keys. She believes there are many different beings who also have access to this magick to greater or lesser degrees, depending on what kinds of creatures they are-- such as vampires, fae, werewolves, loas, spirits, etc. Some mages are special and are just born with free access to specific magicks-- like her mentor John Constantine who can see/talk to spirits whether he wants to or not, or herself who can just change into a large python at will-- whereas other mages would have to work hard for years just to learn those tricks.

Personality: Kassandra is a complex person. She was very sheltered and protected by her parents growing up because of who and what she is...and who and what THEY are. She did make friends growing up and went to her share of parties, but growing up with adults as her closest companions made her feel like she was a little too mature for her peers, and so she has always been more comfortable just staying at home with her "Uncle John" and her parents.
When she's at home she's a bubbly, energetic, happy person who isn't afraid to share her opinions. However, when she's put into a group of strangers she becomes very shy, nervous, and quiet. The last three years of her life she spent in a drug-induced captivity of an older, manipulative man who her mother thought she could trust, and the result is that now Kassandra is terrified of men-- particularly being left alone with a man. The only exceptions to this are John and her father who she sees as protectors and rescuers-- especially since it was John who came and rescued her from that man. She now has a compulsion to call her parents and John whenever she feels distressed, or has a fear that something might have happened to them.
Because of the heavy dosages of the drugs she was given over a 3-year period to keep her in a zombie-slave-like state, Kassandra also suffers from flash-backs that are triggered by stress, pressure, or sometimes the mere mention of her captor's-- Papa Orfirio-- name. In the flashbacks she feels like she's right back in Orfirio's mansion, unable to break away from him. So she is now terrified of mind-altering drugs, fearing that another man will try the same thing on her
She realizes that her psychological problems are putting a strain on John-- they've already had a number of talks where John tries to convince her that it's time for her to try standing on her own two feet and not rely on him so much anymore, but she can't help it. She has a panic-attack whenever she can't reach him when she nees him, or when he says he has to go out of town for a while. She even begged him to take her as his lover to try to get closer to him, but he gently told her no, saying that he'll never make the mistake of sleeping with a student again.
She was heart-broken but accepted his answer, and so now she's trying as hard as she can to be her own person and take care of her own problems without asking her parents or John for help. She's also trying to get closer to her cabal-mates Aidan (Verbena), Kaiden (Verbena), Kyrill (Virtual Adept), and Voldia (Euthanatos) as well as the chantry-elder Jishna (Celestial Chorus). She's very lonely and longs for a man to love, but first she has to get over her fear of men enough to actually get to know one...and be able to go out with one, just the two of them.
