"Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget."
-G. Randolf

The circle of friends spent many days hunting together in the depths of the Mine of Blackburrow. Many a foul gnoll met its fate at the tip of Phiona's spear. Gillivray and his warder felled countless slobbering heathen dogs. Often the clap of thunder could be heard throughout the dungeon when Alwynn delivered the final blow to the disgusting beasts. And Elberath was their, lute in hand, to sing the tales of their adventures as they sat about the evening camp fire.

It was during this time, one evening, when Phiona asked Kilayl what this "Triune Alliance" was that he often mentioned. The normally quiet and reserved ranger became alive with tales of the mighty guild he was a part of, the Triune Alliance. He told their adventures long into the night, peaking the curiosity of the others.

How does one become a member of such a guild?" Phiona inquired.

Kilayl spent several moments contemplating her question, before he answered in a reserved tone, "One does not simply become a member of the Triune Alliance. Only the most honorable, noble and courageous may join their ranks." With that he looked around the camp fire and each adventurer present and continued, "I believe you all would meet the criteria."

The next day Phiona and Gillivray made more inquiries into this guild called the Triune Alliance. They discussed it privately, away from the others. This was a new experience for them and it was something to be seriously contemplated before any decisions could be made. But, in the end, the two decided to make an attempt to join this guild which their ranger friend had spoken so fondly of. On February 12, 2002, Gillivray & Phiona McRee became official members of the Triune Alliance.

A week later, while the group was hunting in South Karana, a stately figure appeared before them. It was Bodiciea Sadirane, a high elf wizard. It was at this time that Elberath and Alwynn also joined the Triune Alliance.

And their lives would never be the same again!

While improving their fighting skills in the dungeon of Blackburrow had been more exciting than anything the five young adventurers had ever known, they yearned for something more. They wanted to do more for the land of Norrath. It was time they moved on and left the gnolls of Blackburrow to those younger adventurers who benefited more there. They had achieved as much as possible in this dungeon.

Rumor had it that these disgusting dog creatures descended from a long line of similar creatures, more powerful than the mere pups dwelling in the belly of Blackburrow. The circle of friends set out to find these creatures. They figured that if they could eliminate the source, they might do more good for the peoples of Norrath.

So, with purpose in mind, they headed East from Blackburrow and into the Karanas. It was a long trek across Western Karana, filled with many pitfalls along the way. The friends were careful to avoid the many bandit camps that dotted the country side, even departing from the path when it was necessary. This was unknown territory and none of them wanted to take any chances with their lives.

Finally arriving on the other side of Western Karana, they discovered they would have to cross the tip of the Northern Karanas to reach their destination. It was here that they caught their first glimpse of those mythical creatures, griffons. In awe of the creatures, yet wary of them, the group made their way carefully around the magnificent creatures undetected to at last reach the shores of a great river. The other side of that river was Eastern Karana. The land they had sought. Their reason for treking so far from home.

The friends explored the area across the bridge, until finally deciding on a good spot beside the river to set up camp. It was the end of one long journey and the beginning of their next great adventure. It was here on these shores that their merit would be tested and their bonds would grow stronger.

For many days the group made raids into the wilds of Eastern Karana, always returning to their chosen camp at the end of the long day. It was the first time any of them had been so far from home and it was a trying time for them. It was also where they found the Gnoll Reavers. The rumors had been true. The creatures did exist indeed! With a vengeance the friends set out to vanquish every last one of the disgusting dogs.

This proved to be a time of invaluable experience for the five. It was here that Gillivray first learned the value of an ambush type assault on their enemies. He would go out into the wilds to find an unsuspecting gnoll and lure it back to the group. Surprised to find five armed adventurers rather than just one, the gnolls would be caught off guard.

Many gnolls met their fate their on the eastern shores of the Karana River. The evenings were spent again around the camp fire reliving the battles of the day, enjoying the silly antics of each other and enjoying the sweet music Elberath made as he formed their adventures into songs that bards for generations would sing of. These were truly wonderful times for the circle of friends and not likely to ever be forgotten.

After spending much time battling their way through the Massive chickens in the Southern Plains of Karana, the loyal group made their way to Lake Rathetear. It was here that they encountered a stronger breed of gnoll than those found in the Eastern Karanas. Deciding to do their part to rid these vile creatures from the land, they quickly set up camp and went about the business of terminating these plagues to society.

These were a breed of gnoll they had not before encountered. They were much stronger than those the group had come up against before. It took much more planning, team work and precise execution to conquer this foe. It was here the friends learned the strengths and weaknesses of their companions. These gnolls tried their courage and tested their fortitude. A process that brought the friends all the more closer together, for they depended on each other far more here than in any adventure they had shared thus far.

By now the friends had reached their twentieth season of adventuring together. They had faced insurmountable odds and, by working together, had conquered their enemies thus far. It was during this time that the group became more than just five adventurers facing the world together. They had become a circle of real friends, sharing a commraderie that would forever hold a special place in each of their hearts.

This was also the point where they discovered they had out grown gnolls. It was time to move on from vanquishing the dog-like creatures. Leave those foul beasts for other adventurers and seek a more vile foe to eliminate. Their days as gnoll hunters were over. What lay ahead of them was a long path, frought with dangers they never knew existed.
