You will see alot of my handiwork in this corner, & many of the projects
on this page were destined to be gifts. Every stich made with love,
and lovingly received by the recipients.
I have been knitting for about 6 years now,
and have crochet for the last 3.
Both skills were self taught, reading books etc...
My Grandmother didn't knit, so I was all on my own...lol
Knitting was easy to pick up, but crochet on the other hand was quite a challenge.
I realize now that you must have the mind set for it...lol
I don't know how many times I picked up a hook, some yarn
and a pattern book and worked myself in a frenzy !
Then I would stash it back in the closet after being totally exasperated,
and forget about it for another six months, until the urge struck again.
Finally I found a really good instructional booklet,
'Learn to Crochet in just one day' (I thought ya right ! LOL)
But that's the book that got me sucessfully started !
I now enjoy crochet even a little more than knitting, less strain on the hands
(for those with carpul tunnel syndrome)
and patterns seem to work up so much quicker in crochet !
Talk about instant gratification :)
