Butterfly Magnet
Size varies with type of yarn and size of hook
(I used 4ply worsted weight bernat cotton, with a size I crochet hook.
Materials: Small amount of yarn (good for scrap balls)
Rnd 1: Chain 6, sl st in the 4th ch from hook to form a ring. Ch 3, (do the following stiches inside the ring)*
3 dc, ch2. Repeat from * 7 more times. Join with sl st in top of begining ch 4. Ch 3, turn.
Rnd 2: 2dc, ch 2, 3 dc in next ch 2 sp. * 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in each remaining ch 2 space. Join with sl st in top of begining ch 3. DO NOT CH or TURN.
Rnd 3: Sl st in next 2 dc, sl st in next ch 2 sp. Ch 3, 9 dc in same sp. * Sc in next open space, 10 dc in next ch 2 space. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st in top of begining ch 3.
Fasten off.
Weave in all loose ends.
To finish: Fold work in half with wrong sides together lining up the sets of 10 double crochets.
Take a 6 inch piece of matching yarn and stiffen with glue or podge let dry.
Tie stiffened yarn around center of butterfly and  trim antenae if necessary.
Hot glue a magnet to the back side of butterfly
