Shoot at Gunsmoke
September 15th
The shoot started off just fine with a
fairly cool day in comparison to our usual 95 degree days. Weather repost
said we would have lots of rain hit us by noon. We thought, hmmm, maybe we
could get finished with the shoot before it hit. Then it started
sprinkling. The morning meeting went off smooth with the announcements of
the nominations for officers. I took several pictures. The shoots
got started. Some of the posses finished the outside stations before the
heavier drizzle and had the protection of the inside stations during the worst
of it. Some of the members got really cold and stopped shooting just short
of their outside stations. The diehards stuck it out and finished the
outside stations. Everyone seemed to be having a good time considering it
drizzled during the whole shoot. It didn't stop me. I took my
umbrella and took pictures of as many couples as I could find. Some were drenched
but cheerful. I will post the photos as soon as I get them back from the
developer ( about a week).
I am so excited! I have a new
project. I am hoping I will find all my pards and pardettes at Gunsmoke as
excited about it as I am. I have been Administrator of several Interactive
Web sites powered by MyFamily.com. Some or very active. I think this
would be a great place for CAS from THSS can share Pictures, News, History and
much more. It is a private password protected interactive web
site. We can all share pictures. You and all
invited members can reply to all of the photos. Members can post News or
questions under News. Tell us about how your shoot went. Ask questions
about your guns. Start a discussion about period costumes. All the members
can read all and can reply. There are section headings like News,
Photos, History, Reviews, Receipts, and Poles. As administrator I can add
other headings that we find interesting like Other Hobbies. The ideas are
endless. The Computer Cowpoke, want to be, nerds, like me, can share in
the Administrator duties with me or join in and share fun graphics.
Members can reply in short sentences or long stories. This can be lots of
fun.
Are you willing to join and visit a site like this at least
once a week, read the posts and at least reply or add a photo on something
every couple of weeks??? It is not a complicated site. The most
novice members can learn in a short time how to get around and add replys.
I will start off the site by inviting just the visitors to this site. If
you see the potential of the interest and fun we can have there then help me
share it with other members. If you know other compodre's from THSS that
might like to join you can invite them right from the site or email me with
their as, Name, Alias, and email address. I will invite them.
Our THSS president told me I could announce this at one of our morning meetings
when we are ready.
If you are not interested just ignore the invitation
but I hope you will join and see what it is all about. I am hopping all my
visitors to my personal site will help me get this started.
It is Free
to join and you will know most of the members and will get to know those you
have not yet met. The site is Free but MyFamily.com charges $29.90 a Year
for the space to post our pictures. They take up a lot of space.
If we see there is enough to enjoy the site then we could all share this once a
year expense in the form of donations. The way other groups have done this
is just to collect the names of ones willing to donate on the site itself.
When the list is complete the $29.90 is split evenly and the donations
paid. I think this site will be lots of fun for all the THSS
members. If you agree just shout.....

I have already talked to
our THSS president and a few of the other members and
they are excited with the
idea of this interactive private THSS/CAS only members web site. I
would like to hear from you about what you think and if you have any questions.

The
theme of my photos this month is Couples. Photos will be posted as soon as
I get them from the processor.
