Shoot At Gunsmoke

5Instructions.JPG (35578 bytes)When we first arrive at Gunsmoke Danny Ringo had to pay his shoot fee and sign into a posse.  Star Sterling and Texas Jack Daniels are usually there to take care of that job.  Danny Ringo had already had his shooting orientation on  to  shoot rules and how to handle his guns safely, from Pepper, in December so he did not have to do this before the shoot when it usually happens.  His scores are below.

6LongBranch.JPG (40876 bytes)You can get a better look at  Long Branch Saloon shoot station   The front of the building looks like a regular western building but the back is open for the shooters to shoot at the targets.

shootstation1-02.JPG (16322 bytes)  Carter Gun Emporium is another shoot station.

This was Danny Ringo's first shoot at Gunsmoke.  This was his first station on the shoot.  This station is the Marshall's Office.  Notice the targets he is shooting at.

A group of ladies in their costumes.  One saloon girl.  Wonder if that many ladies would be seen talking to a saloon girl back then.  Ha Ha .

Star Sterling and Henrietta Ash are two the ladies on the board at Gunsmoke.  They are dressed in the proper costumes of the period of 1860-1899. They are standing in front of the Marlin House before it go a fresh coat of red paint.

On the right is a photo of Sexy Sadie Fly and myself.  Wesadielin1-02.JPG (13373 bytes) met Sadie and her husband first at Travis County Regulators then again at Gunsmoke.  They are the official photographers of the THSS.

These are pictures of Danny Ringo and me (Country Girl Linda) at different stations:  Gunsmoke Texas Overland Stage, on the steps of Curls Saloon & Hotel, DR with his gun cart, DR in front of the Gallows.

  drcart1-02.JPG (17431 bytes)Gun Carts

Gun cart are built to carry the heavy guns from station to station.  There are no real on them except to have them safely secure the guns.  They can be 4 wheel or 2 wheel and as creative as you would like.

drcglcart1-02.JPG (17218 bytes)  At these shoot you will see all kinds of fancy to funny gun carts.  Some are very practical and some are very versatile.  Danny Ringo's cart is more practical.  He usually had the Confederate and US flag fling from his cart.

The cart just behind DR is flanked by it owners, Loose Cannon Lou and Sweet Pea Sallie.outhouseguncart1-02.JPG (16373 bytes)

The Outhouse gun cart to the right is closed in and is unique. Its owner has some very long rifles or shotguns.

Charles Goodnight is taking timeout between shoots to pull his grandson round in his red and yellow buckboard wagon.  Charles is the President of THSS and a very good one I might add.

A covered wagon gun cart.  I do not know its owner but he or she should be very proud of it.
