Ladybug Country's Pond in July 2002
The weather in our area of Texas has been nice this year so far. We
have gotten about 5 inches of rain in the last 2 weeks. Here are some of
the photos of the pond this year.
Now that you have seen it all together here are thumbnails that you can click
to enlarge so you can get close-ups.

#1 Fountain
The fountain end of the pond with the garden fairy and the deer garden under a
very large cedar tree. You can just see the buck over the top of the cedar
bench. This pond is in our front courtyard of our home. We can see it our of all
our front windows. We can enjoy the sounds in the spring and summer months when
we have the windows open.
Our home is in the country near La Grange Texas. We are on the edge of Zone 8
and 9. Danny stared digging in the middle of December 2000. We lined it and had
it finished by Christmas. These photos were taken in July 2002.
#2 Bridge and Arbor
Here you see the lighted bridge and the lower part of the arbor that my
Danny built to carry out the rustic country look of our home. You may notice
Ladybug Crossing sign with the ladybugs (made of painted stones) on each side.
The boy to the right of the sign is fishing.
#3 Waterfalls
This is the high light of our garden pond. The waterfalls is continuous
running put photos never catch the light reflecting from the water. Boo Hoo. My
favorite garden art is the two girls connecting snail shells in the water lily
leaf. Notice the water lily in bloom just for our photo. Bull Toad and Toadette
are watching over the tadpoles in the pond along with the many goldfish of all
sizes. We opted not to get Koa cause of the raccoons and other predators that
might visit. So for we have had no problems.
#4 Bandits Garden
Bandit's (raccoon garden art) garden is just to the right of the
waterfalls, under a Hackberry Tree. The birds and squirrels visit the bird bath
quite often.
#5 Outside the fence
This photo fits just over the fence in the front above the waterfalls. I
wanted you to see the front flag pole area down to the tree line near our gate.
Danny is busy pulling his little red wagon around. :-) Out here in the front
portion of our property we see families of deer almost every day.
