To raise funds for Comic Relief, Kleenex issued limited edition Red Nose Day packs of tissues featuring several celebrities of which Paul was one.

The New Paul O'Grady Show ran a competition to create a Christmas card with each of the winner's designs in the categories Under 8s, 8-16 year olds, Adults 16 -60 years old and Over 60s being printed and sold as a pack by the Co-op. Also in the pack of five cards was one featuring Paul and Buster wearing Santa hats. The charities Crisis, Shelter and Centrepoint received a percentage of the sales.

This 1978 Bedford CF Camper Van was converted for use on The New Paul O'Grady Show. The interior was stripped out then two seats fitted to the rear so that there would be enough room for a camera man and equipment to film Paul.

| Ruby Bear-Lesque is the life-long companion of show biz personality Lily Savage (alias Paul O'Grady). Ruby has lived with Lily for forty-one years although Lily isn't certain how Ruby arrived. Ruby stays at home now, being of a certain age, but has spent many years travelling the world. There was one extraordinary adventure when Ruby went missing on the way back from the Far East, lost amongst the luggage for six whole months! But all's well that ends well for this lucky bear who was retrieved by Pakistan Airlines and returned home safe and sound. More colourful memories come to Ruby's mind when she recalls her life in 'The Dutch Inn' an American sailors bar in Manila - "Say no more" as Lily says - "This bear has lived!" "My life with my best friend Lily has certainly been an adventure. Lily is such a scream! Crowds are always pressing in to get close and I feel very proud to be Lily's best friend. My time on a shelf behind the bar at 'The Dutch Inn' was best of all. You can only imagine the things I saw and the people I met - what fun! Still, I did promise Lily I'd be discreet, so I guess some of my secrets must stay silent behind my smile! Perhaps I may be persuaded to tell the Colour Box bears, we shall see..." Produced for the Society of Stars to raise income for people with cerebral palsy. |
