Rambling
Sept 21st, 2002 ME AGAIN!! hehheh. maybe a brief-er summary even. Have been working at the National Research Council Innovation Centre here in Vancouver since May - my workterm ends in November, but I'm hoping to continue work on my current project - hopefully with a Masters program at UBC.Lately, aside from making little fuel cell assemblies and trying to figure out FEMLAB for work, I've started trying my hand at playing the violin. I mean, i like playing the piano, but i've always loved listening to the violin. It will take a while before i can play anything decent on the violin, but hey, its a start! :) Have also begun to collect more classical CD's, along with CD's of a HK singer Hacken Lee. It is kinda funny since I rarely ever listen to pop songs, and even less of cantopop. Lately Mannie went to HK and bought a VCD of Hacken Lee in concert - it was song after song of "oh! he sang that song? I liked that one.. hey! he sang that one too?!?"..... hehheh. I guess i never quite bothered to figure out who sings the occasional song that i like listening to on (chinese) radio. never had the time anyways! Anyhow, the fact that I am tinkering with other things like "music" now is probably a good sign. And of course, I've managed to go thru Lord of the Rings again (the books) - I haven't read them since elementary school - but i loved it about as much this time! hum.. I think my mom would say something about... uh... not growing up.. HEY! I'm OBVIOUSLY not the only one who loves dragons, wizards and all... ;) . Two Towers coming out in December - at which time I will presumably be in HK for a visit!! (I hope!) Yes I do think I will finally get to go to HK again for a short trip. Very much looking forward to that.... Anyhow, enough rambling for now! Aug 7th, 2002 well. Here I am again, finally. I can't say i'm busy, but can't say I'm not either. Not sure where to start... it has been a while eh.. like, 1/3 a year... well. Probably best to start with the fact that lilian officially GRADUATED .. May 27th, 2002. B.A.Sc in Engineering Physics., at the Chan Centre. Speaking of which, I still have a stack of grad photos that I was supposed to send out!! yikes! so between the end of exams and graduation I took about a week or two off. ... well, as in hung around helping at home and at the farm for about a week or so, if you could call that taking time off ;) . May 6th, 2002 I began my 3rd workterm with the NRC Women in Engineering and Science program. |
