Series Introduction For all you people out there who are new to the Inuyasha series, here's an introduction to how it all came to be.

          
Modern day Tokyo, Japan; Year 1997. Kagome Higurashi is pulled into the well in the Higurashi Shrine by a demon on her fifteenth birthday. Through the well, she is sent back in time to the Sengoku Jidai Period, the warring states era, where demons and humans alike seek for the magical jewel that grants the beholder anything they wish. This magical jewel is the called the 'Shikon no Tama'. Kagome accidentally breaks the spell and awakens a hanyou named Inuyasha who was bound to the Goshinboku Tree by a powerful miko called Kikyou. Kagome, trying to retrieve the jewel back from a demon bird, shatters the Shikon no Tama. From here, their journey to find all the pieces of the jewel begins...
