Highlight

On November 22, 2005, in a simple ceremony, attended by several NGOs and Civic organizartions,  Life 4 Water turned-over to the local government unit of the Municipality of Kolambugan, Province of Lanao del Norte in the Philippines a small water system for their drip irrigation. The water system, which is powered by a 1-inch L4W hydraulic ram pump will be used to water a hectare organic vegetable garden which will be cultivated in the first quarter of next year, 2006.

The demo garden project, which  located in the 5-hectare material recovery facility is in line with the program of Kolambugan to process solid wastes into organic fertilizer-- a responsive program for solid waste management. Hopefully, the demo garden would cause the advancement of farming technolgy to the farmers who are living in the adjacent farmlots.

The project which costed PhP300,000 (US$6,000) was funded from the congressional fund of Congressman Alipio Badelles, a local district representative to the House of Congress of the Philippines.
Gil Cagalawan, President of Life 4 Water,  turned-over the water project before the officers of the local governement of Kolambugan and to other NGO representatives who witnessed the occasion
